Board Policy 4460



    All professional employees who intend to resign or retire are encouraged to notify their principal and/or the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel of their plans as soon as possible prior to the intended termination date. All resignations shall be written and submitted to the Superintendent or designee.


    Professional employees may resign at any time by obtaining concurrence of the Board or by written notice sent to the Board at least thirty (30) days before the intended date of resignation. The letter shall include a statement of the teacher’s reason for terminating employment.


    No professional employee may resign during the school term in order to accept another teaching position without agreement of the Board.


    Probationary employees under contract may terminate their service during the period of the contract only when termination is mutually agreed between the Board and the teacher.
