Website Accessibility
-
Woodridge School District 68 is committed to ensuring that all material on its website is accessible to students, faculty, staff and the general public. The school district uses Blackboard (now part of Finalsite) web community manager and its web accessibility tool, Ally.
Blackboard products are designed and developed in accordance with the internationally recognized Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as well as the Section 508 standards in the United States. A third party conducts regular audits of Blackboard’s software to ensure quality expectations are being met and maintained.
Woodridge 68 works diligently to ensure the accessibility of its web content, including following guidelines and best practices. The district also uses Ally, an accessibility tool that automatically scans our original content to provide regular reports and identify issues to address.
Best screen reader experience
For the best experience with your screen reader, use Chrome™ and Jaws on a Windows® system. On a Mac®, use Safari® and VoiceOver.
Keyboard navigation
Industry-standard keyboard interactions are used throughout the district website. Keyboard navigation patterns differ between browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari), but the interactions within any particular browser are common and consistent.
If you are using a Mac with Firefox or Safari and are having difficulty navigating using your keyboard, review and update your operating system and browser settings. This ensures they are properly configured for keyboard navigation.
