Early entrance

Early Entrance to Kindergarten / First Grade Nomination Form
Early entrance to kindergarten or first grade nominations are due by April 1 of the preceding school year. This form must be completed and returned in a timely manner to ensure that all school readiness assessments can be completed prior to the end of the preceding school year. These assessments may include, but are not limited to, the KABC-II-Nu, WISC-IV, KBIT, and the IOWA Rating Scales.

Nomination for gifted services screening
There are four steps for identification, which occur in grades 2 and 6 in the spring of each school year. Complete the nomination form for any student in grades 3, 4, 5, or 7 who you feel may need gifted services for the 2022-23 school year.
CogAT Administration

CogAT informational letter
All students currently in grades 2-7 will participate in CogAT testing. The CogAT assessment is used as a measure of a student’s verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal abilities. Scores will be used to assist our district staff in determining instructional strategies and identification for our gifted services programming for the 2022-23 school year.
Appeals

Gifted Services appeals form
Parents or staff may appeal the identification panel's decision by completing the appeals form and returning it to the gifted coordinator by the date on the form. The appeal committee will consist of the gifted coordinator, district administrator and a district parent. The appeal committee will review all pertinent information and notify parents by mail. The decision of the appeal committee is final.
