Youth suicide impacts the safety of the school environment. It also affects the school community, diminishing the ability of surviving students to learn and the school’s ability to educate. Suicide and depression awareness and prevention are important Board goals.

A multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists at Advocate Children’s Hospital works with a child psychiatrist to develop age-appropriate therapies for a wide range of behavioral disorders in children. Our programs address the total child and work toward normalizing peer interaction and participation at school. A strong emphasis is placed on ensuring healthy dynamics within the family, including interaction with siblings.
