Additional Google Services
Parents/guardians will co-sign the student form at the time of registration
Google has recently updated its usage policy for Google Workspace for Education. Under these changes, the previously signed agreements for student use of Google Workspace for Education no longer include access to "Additional Google Services." These services are not directly connected to Google’s core educational tools (Classroom, Calendar, Drive, Mail,), and Google now requires separate parent/guardian permission for students to use them.
The "Additional Google Services" include but are not limited to apps like YouTube, Google Maps, Google Earth, and Google Translate, that can enhance classroom learning. With this new policy by Google, Woodridge School District 68 must obtain additional guardian approval for students to access these services yearly./p>
Important Notes:
- Educational Use Only: These services will be used solely for educational purposes, under the supervision of sc/span>
- Separate Approval Required: Without your consent, your child will permanently lose access to these specific apps within Google. This may impact their ability to participate in certain classroom activities and access resources during the school day.
- Privacy and Compliance: While these tools are not covered by SOPPA, [School District Name] ensures their use will align with our existing data privacy and security protocols.
