Food Service While Hybrid Learning
Effective Tuesday, January 19, the Woodridge 68 food service program distribution days and times have changed.
The USDA extended its national school lunch and breakfast program guidelines through the end of the school year, allowing school districts to continue to distribute meals to all school-aged children.
Who is Eligible
All school-aged children 18 years old and younger are eligible for the meal program.
Nutritional Information & Menus
Meals will include a boxed breakfast and boxed lunch, including milk, that meets all nutritional requirements of the USDA National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. Menus and nutritional information are posted in the Food Services section of the district website.
No ID or Payment Needed
Families will only need to indicate how many children are in the household when picking up meals; no student names or ID numbers will be collected. There is no charge for these meals, regardless of pay status (free, reduced, or paid).
On the days the student is learning in-school, a single-day boxed lunch with milk will be available during the school day. Upon dismissal, a box containing three days of meals (breakfast and lunch) and a bag of milks will be available to students to take home as they leave the building. If a child is unable to carry the 3-day meal box/milk, a parent/guardian may pick up the meal box and milk immediately before or after the student dismissal time (not during dismissal) or pick up meals during Wednesday meal distribution.
Wednesday distribution will be at six schools between 7:30-9:30am at five schools, and 7:30-11:30am at one school. Families may pick up meals curbside once per week. Three days of meals will be distributed per student on these days, providing up to six meals a week.
There will also be Wednesday distribution at various remote sites between 10:30-11:30am. Families will receive six days of meals per student on Wednesdays.
Woodridge 68 reserves the right to change, move or cancel serving locations and times based on participation and staffing at each site.
