In previous years, the General Election on the first Tuesday of November has been declared a state holiday by the State of Illinois. Because of this, the originally approved 2026-27 district calendar has school closed for the General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. This year, however, the Illinois General Assembly did not declare an election day holiday. Woodridge 68 schools and the district office are often used as polling places for elections. The school district has no control over or the right to refuse whether a school is selected.
As a result, because at least one of our schools has been identified as a polling place, instead of no school on election day, Woodridge 68 will have an e-learning day. Students will not be in the buildings but will learn from home. This change has the added benefit of moving the last day of school up. Here are the relevant dates to note:
