Kindergarten

Do you have a student eligible for kindergarten attendance for the 2025-26 school year? Children must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2025. Anyone seeking to enroll a student in the district must present: the student's birth certificate (original or certified copy issued by the County; hospital copy not accepted) and the parent/guardian's valid passport or photo ID (driver’s license or state-issued ID).

Kindergarten pre-registration for the 2025-26 school year will be held on April 9, 2025. Follow the instructions for new student online registration. Families who register during pre-registration will have their residency verified electronically. Children currently enrolled in the blended preschool program need not attend pre-registration, but will need to complete returning student registration. You will receive information about kindergarten open house at the start of the school year from the school your child will attend closer to the time.

Forms & Health Requirements

 

At the time of registration, you will complete a registration form; home language survey; and field trips, photographs, and videos permission form. You will also be given physical, dental, and vision examination forms.

Kindergarten students are new students to the district, regardless of whether they have siblings who already attend Woodridge 68 schools. Proof of residency is required for all new students to the district. 

Physical examinations, dated within one year prior to entrance, by a licensed physician, are necessary for entry into kindergarten. Documentation of all immunizations, with exact dates must be provided. A dental exam by a licensed dentist, as well as a vision examination by a licensed eye doctor, is also required. Proof of the above requirement must be presented before the first day of school. Additional information can be found in the Health Services section of the district website.

 

Early Entrance to Kindergarten

Nominations for early entrance to kindergarten (or first grade) can be found on the district website under > Departments >Teaching & Learning >Gifted Services. All nomination requests are due in the spring of the preceding school year, no later than April 1.
