Student Fees
Illinois statutes permit public school districts to charge students a fee for the use of textbooks, materials and supplies that are used in the course of a student’s education. Funds are budgeted for general supplies and materials, library materials, equipment, classroom supplies, and other consumable material each year. In addition, an annual budget for technology covers peripheral devices, technology supplies and software licenses used within the school. The annual registration fee charged to students is intended to cover only a portion of the cost of these items. In general, school districts may not charge tuition to students residing in the district who attend public schools.

Anticipating a fee waiver?
Don’t wait to submit your student’s registration! Select the ‘Waiver Applicant’ option for payment. Please review the following requirements regarding registration fees:
- Direct Certification: The State of Illinois typically releases Direct Certification notices during the first two weeks of July. Families who are directly certified will have their fees waived automatically.
- Waiver Application: If you do not receive a Direct Certification from the state, you must submit a formal fee waiver application through the school district's business department. These applications will not be available until July.
- Financial Responsibility: It is the family’s responsibility to apply for a waiver if they are not automatically certified. If you do not apply, or if your application is denied, you remain responsible for all registration fees.
- Billing & Payment: Outstanding fees will be added to the student’s PowerSchool account and can be paid through the Parent Portal.
