School improvement plan

Goodrich School's goal is to build collective efficacy across all staff members though a series of highly structured meetings that focus on curriculum, the best way to teach that curriculum, and analysis to determine if learning occurred.  Additional meetings will be held with sub departments to ensure that all staff are 'on the same page' and that all students learning needs are accounted for.  

Collective efficacy, the shared belief that by working together, a faculty can achieve desired goals, has one of the highest effect sizes among school based strategies according to recent educational research.  Collective efficacy has been proven to more predictive of student learning than socio-economic status.

Grade level team will meet twice a week with the school instructional coach to participate in meetings to plan for upcoming lessons.  During the meetings, the group will examine the upcoming curriculum (with a focus in either mathematics or ELA), consider which instructional strategies are likely to be facilitate the best outcomes, and at the next meeting, analyze the results to determine if they were impactful as intended.  This cycle of discussions will continue throughout the year, and the meeting discussions and decisions will be logged into a Google folder.
