Athletics & activities

Woodridge School District 68 provides both intramural sports and interscholastic activities for all children in grades 7 and 8. Participation of elementary students is permitted if all eligibility requirements are met as detailed in the Jefferson Junior High School Athletic Handbook. However, preference will be given to junior high students if talent is judged to be equal. The coach of each sport will be the sole judge. Thomas Jefferson Junior High is a member of the Southeast DuPage Elementary Athletic Association (SDEAA) and competes or participates in all 10 sports/activities offered.

In addition to intramural and interscholastic activities, junior high students have the opportunity to participate in several extracurricular groups, clubs, and activities throughout the school year. New clubs and groups are considered when enough students express an interest in a particular subject area.

Spectators

All spectators at Jefferson Junior High should park in the north and south parking lots. Please refrain from parking on side streets or in surrounding neighborhoods when possible as the streets are narrow and this creates a hazard for the residents in our neighborhood. For larger events, such as conference meets, we will partner up with nearby businesses (V3) to utilize their lots for parking overflow. For cross country meets please check the location on the calendar as some meets are held at off-site locations rather than on the school campus.

Thomas Jefferson Junior High School Activity Handbook

Welcome to the Thomas Jefferson Junior High School Activity Handbook. This resource is designed to support students, parents, and coaches by outlining the expectations, policies, and procedures related to extracurricular athletics and activities at Jefferson Junior High. Participation in school activities plays a key role in developing teamwork, discipline, responsibility, and school spirit. Inside, you'll find important information on eligibility requirements, sportsmanship, concussion protocols, and the responsibilities of student participants. We encourage all students to get involved and make the most of the opportunities available through our activity programs.
