School improvement plan

Goal 1: To increase students' ability to Notice, Name & Navigate their feelings, Meadowview will implement the Let Grow Monthly Independence Project. Once a month during SEL time, students will learn of the project theme and some suggestions for the project. 

Goal 2: To increase students' learning in math, and to measure teacher's instructional impact on student learning, grade level teacher, the instructional coach and the principal will participate in weekly Teach Measure Learn cycles during Impact Team Time. 

Goal 1: Students need to notice how they are feeling, name the feelings they are experiencing and navigate through the feelings in order to regulate themselves.  

Goal 2: Teachers need to know what their impact on student learning is and completing Teach Measure Learn cycles allows teachers, as a team, to determine how their instruction impacted the students with whom they work. 

Goal 1

1. The Let Grow Monthly Independence project is introduced to families during curriculum night including rationale and sample projects. 
2. Pre-experience surveys sent to students in grades 3-6 as well as a survey for parents to complete. 
3. Staff are introduced to the project including rationale and all materials needed for use in the classroom.
4. Students are introduced to the monthly theme at the beginning of each month. They share their project at the end of each month. 
5. Students and families are asked to complete a post-experience survey at the end of the school year. 

Goal 2

1. Teach Measure Learn (TML) cycles are introduced and implemented.
2. TML cycles begin with a simple activity such as a cooperative learning structure or thinking map. 
3. Teachers determine what math standard/concept we will focus on during each cycle.
4. Teachers evaluate impact on student learning based on student performance on a common formative assessment. 
5. TML cycles are repeated throughout the school year with other standards/concepts.
