School improvement plan

Goal 1: In conjunction with current use of cooperative learning structures, implement Retrieval Practices by 90% of teachers a minimum of three times a week resulting in increased student retention of material and student academic achievement. 

Goal 2: To increase students' learning in math, and to measure teacher's instructional impact on student learning, grade level teachers and the principal will participate in weekly Teach Measure Learn cycles during Impact Team Time and focus on Retrieval Practice strategies.  

Goal 1: Retrieval practice provides students an opportunity to bring forward information they have already learned. By retrieving the information, they increase retention of information. 

Goal 2: Teachers need to know what their impact on student learning is and completing Teach Measure Learn cycles allows teachers, as a team, to determine how their instruction impacted the students with whom they work. 

Goal 1

1.  Teachers will have professional development regarding Retrieval Practice and different strategies to use.
2. Teacher teams will develop three lessons in which to implement Retrieval Practice.
3. Teacher teams will share student success on Retrieval Practice during TLM cycles.

Goal 2

1. Teachers determine what math Retrieval Practice strategy to focus on during the TML cycle. 
2. Teachers evaluate impact on student learning based on student performance on a Retrieval Practice strategy.  
3. TML cycles are repeated throughout the school year with other Retrieval Practice strategies.
