Preschool and Early Childhood

Woodridge School District 68's Preschool and Early Childhood programs were developed to identify young children who might be at risk for school failure due to physical, environmental, cultural or socioeconomic factors and who might have developmental delays and would benefit from special education prior to beginning kindergarten.

Preschool screening is offered to children who are three years of age or approaching his/her third birthday and reside in the district. Children are screened by a team of school professionals in seven areas of development: speech, language, gross motor (large muscle coordination), fine motor (eye-hand coordination), cognitive-verbal (conceptual development), social/emotional, and hearing & vision.

Screening is also available for children ages birth through 2 who are suspected of having a disability which interferes with development. This screening is different from preschool screening.

Interested parents should contact Student Services at 630-795-6830 or studentservices@woodridge68.org for additional information or to make an appointment.
